In order to match the program inside of a glass gallery and hot shop, the building needed to reflect some of the qualities of glass. The fluid motion, reflectivity, and smooth edges, were all key characteristics that define glass. Along with the clients love of the arts, she values nature and how it brings people together and brings life to the world. While, this needed to be a landmark structure, it was important for it to blend and fuse with the surrounding environment. The glass tiled facade came about to create the smoothness and flexibility of the surface, but created an important opportunity to bring the greenery onto the building with the almost mirror like quality of the exterior.
