Located on the iconic Windward Avenue, this new building in Venice Beach pays homage to the neighborhood’s storied past while embracing its ever-evolving future. Originally conceived as part of a grand resort attraction over a century ago, the area’s arcades and architectural flourishes drew inspiration from the romance of Venice, Italy. Today, this project continues that legacy—not through imitation, but through reinterpretation —blending historic character with the raw energy and eclectic spirit that define modern Venice.
Drawing from its surroundings, the design weaves together elements both refined and rugged. Subway tile, a familiar sight on nearby façades, meets the textured concrete of Muscle Beach and Abbot Kinney. Round windows hint at Venice’s maritime roots, while simplified arch details offer a contemporary nod to the classic arcades lining the street. The result is a structure that feels both timeless and distinctly of its place.
At its heart, this building is a destination—a dynamic space that welcomes both locals and visitors alike. The ground floor features a casual takeaway eatery, spilling out onto the sidewalk and engaging with the energy of the street. Above, a refined dining experience offers sweeping views, creating a setting where past and future Venice converge. In a neighborhood that never stands still, this building reflects the rhythm of its surroundings, honoring history while embracing what’s next.
